---|---|---|---|---|---|
FORD TRANSIT CONNECT | -3.49% | 7,357 | 7,623 | 80% | 47% |

TOTAL | -43.79% | 9,200 | 16,366 |
From a segment share standpoint, the Connect posted a substantial 80 percent, up 33 percentage points from the year-ago quarter. The ProMaster saw 19 percent, down one percentage point, while the NV200 decreased 33 percentage points to one percent of the segment share.
The compact van segment contracted 44 percent to 9,200 units during Q1 2022, meaning Transit Connect sales outperformed the segment average.
The numbers continue to speak for themselves, as The Blue Oval’s best-selling Transit Connect swept the floor with the competition during the first quarter of 2022. It is worth noting that all the vehicles within the compact van segment were in the red. However, the Transit showcased the smallest sales decrease – even with the supply chain issues presented by the current pandemic and ongoing microchip shortage.
In addition, FoMoCo was the sole benefactor of the discontinuation of the Nissan NV200, swallowing up the market share left in Nissan’s retreat. In fact, Ford was able to enjoy all the benefits of this opportunity, even pushing into the segment share of the Ram since the ProMaster actually saw a decrease during the quarter. As such, the Transit was able to grow its already-dominant position ever further.
Not terribly surprising, given its past performance.
The two companies have pooled resources on numerous occasions.
It remained with the original owner until earlier this year.
It's one of several new carbon parts for the pony car.
A year later than previously expected.
Expanding that lineup yet again.
