Ford Bronco sales increased in the United States, Canada, and Mexico during the second quarter of 2022.

Despite its massive 3,804 percent jump in sales to 31,269 units, the Ford Bronco still placed third in its direct segment in terms of sales volume. First place went to the Jeep Wrangler, which saw sales decline 22 percent to 53,946 units, while the Toyota 4Runner followed in second with a two percent decrease in sales to 31,922 units. The 31,269 deliveries of the Bronco put it 22,677 units behind the Wrangler, but only 653 units behind the 4Runner.

From a segment share standpoint, the Wrangler accounted for a leading 46 percent share, a decrease of 21 percentage points from the year ago quarter. The 4Runner slid five percentage points to 27 percent share. The Bronco Bronco also accounted for 27 percent of the segment share overall, up 26 percentage points.
The midsize off-road Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment grew an average of 14 percent to 117,137 units during Q2 2022, meaning that the Bronco significantly outperformed the segment average.
Though the Bronco was outsold by the Wrangler and 4Runner, it’s clear that sales of both offerings suffered due at the hands of the new entry from The Blue Oval. As such, it’s safe to conclude that both Wrangler and (to a lesser extent) the 4Runner lost a good amount of share as a direct result of the Bronco.
Despite the healthy performance by the Bronco, we should note that sales of Ford’s 4×4 during Q2 2022 continued to be hamstrung by the continuing scenario of demand outpacing supply. In fact, The Blue Oval is currently focused on building existing customer orders as opposed to Broncos earmarked for dealer inventory. Since demand for the Bronco is so strong, Ford has also stopped taking orders for the 2022 model year. It’s worth noting that this high demand, low supply scenario has caused many Bronco reservation/order holders to wait for months and, in some cases, as long as a year to get their new wild horse. Luckily, order banks for the 2023 Bronco will open this August, as Ford Authority was first to report back in May.
Since its launch in mid-2021, the Bronco has racked up a number of awards and accolades including recently winning a five-year cost to own award as a result of low expected cost of ownership within its segment. The rugged SUV was also crowned the 4×4 of the year at the 2021 SEMA Show, further illustrating the immense amount of interest in Ford’s reborn off-roader.
Looking ahead, we expect Ford Bronco sales to continue growing, limited only by the ability of the Ford Michigan Assembly plant to produce the vehicle. The facility is currently prioritizing Bronco production at the expense of the Ford Ranger, which is the second vehicle made at the plant.
Well, at least they looked up when they did...
Now, the executive is using that term again.
More than ready for the grid.

Maybe Ford should have dedicated one factory to building just the Bronco! It's obvious that they didn't think it would take off as well as it has. But then there's the chip shortage and other parts shortages so maybe it wouldn't have mattered. Still a Ford fan through and through waiting for my Bronco.
Owning a Jeep or Bronco doesn't make you an "OVERLANDER" any more than owning a Guitar make you a Musician
Dude just bc you can’t afford one doesn’t make you smart. Just like standing in a garage doesn’t make you a car. You’re not very smart fredo.
The Bronco is under recall due to catastrophic engine failures, no thank you. Not to mention all the other current Ford recalls. Toyota doesn't have problems of this scale. Ford quality has gone in the tank all the way around.
Bronco is NOT under recall due to catastrophic engine failures. So far, this problem has only impacted a tiny % of the vehicles. Ford is rated above both Toyota and Jeep in JD Power's 2022 Initial Quality Study.
Billy thanks for the facts. Unfortunately there are too many people in this board and in life who hate facts. Refuse to accept facts. Won’t acknowledge them. Cause riots over them. You can’t reason with these people bc they unfortunately are incapable of the truth.
Seems like ford is just getting it’s first full year of sales in . I think it will rise a little more and should pass the 4Runner the jeep probably take another year to get close .
I'm not sure that MAP has the capacity to build that many without moving the Ranger to a different facility, which isn't going to happen. After all, a key reason for the Bronco's existence is the Ranger.
I reserved my Bronco on 7/14/20 and first ordered it on 1/21/21. I was notified on July 4th via email that it was built, but it hasn't been delivered yet. So, depending on whether you go by reservation date or order date I've waited 2 years or 1.5 years so far.
Hi billy. I waited 1.5 years from reservation date to delivery. July 2020. Got it mid January 2022. It’s worth the wait.
Ford's new CEO is moving towards 'disposable cars.' A crying shame what Jim Farley is doing to Ford.
Nate doesn’t know what facts are. He just whines and cried like a little baaaby
