After experiencing a streak of five consecutive months of growth, Ford Chile sales registered a notable contraction in March that abruptly interrupted the growth path that began at the end of last year. Despite the fall, the brand managed to once again overcome the barrier of 1,000 monthly units in Chile that it had lost in February.
Ford Chile’s loss last month is due to lower sales of several models, mainly the double-digit drops of the Ford Territory and Transit. Between both nameplates, the brand lost a considerable volume of 162 units year after year which contributed to tipping the balance negatively – in addition to the natural loss of some discontinued models.
However, the healthy growth in sales of the Ford Ranger stands out positively. The midsize pickup truck continued its growth path and consolidates its usual position as the brand’s best-selling model in the Chilean market. In addition, the Ford F-Series had a good monthly performance that made it surpass the Territory records to position itself as the second best-selling nameplate in the month.
