The Ford Authority Take

Lincoln Nautilus sales during the final quarter of 2024 continued a positive sales trend that started during the first quarter of 2023, meaning that the Nautilus has now achieved two full years of sales growth. In fact, Nautilus sales increased 50 percent year-over-year during the 2024 calendar year. It accomplished this in a space mired in very strong rivals from more established automotive luxury brands such as Lexus, Audi, BMW, and Porsche. We attribute the Nautilus’ impressive growth rate to a very attractive and competitive product that stands out in the segment, as well as to ample availability of the model.

As Ford Authority has reported previously, it’s not luxury but tech that is winning over new buyers for the new Nautilus, with 75 percent of them saying that’s what persuaded them to purchase the all-new model in the first place. Furthermore, owners are extremely loyal to the model. Better yet, the new Nautilus was named the 2025 MotorTrend SUV of the Year and the Nautilus Hybrid beat the Lexus RX450h+ in a new test.

This competitive position is not something enjoyed by all segment contenders. For instance, the Cadillac XT5 will be discontinued after the 2025 model year in North America as Cadillac focuses on an all-electric portfolio. Meanwhile, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio will not see a second generation once the current model is sunset this year.

Looking ahead, a Nautilus refresh was on track for a 2026 debut, but the luxury crossover would banned under a proposed rule prohibiting key Chinese software and hardware in connected vehicles on American roads due to potential security risks. Now we know that the finalized rule may impact the Lincoln Nautilus for the 2027 model year, likely disrupting that planned refresh, since the new Nautilus is produced in China at the Changan Ford Hangzhou Assembly plant and imported into the U.S.

About Lincoln Nautilus

The 2025 Lincoln Nautilus gains a few notable changes over the all-new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, including the fact that the Premiere trim no longer comes standard with a spare tire, replaced with a standard tire mobility kit, though the spare tire remains available as a $250 option.

The luxury crossover lineup finally the gains the Lincoln Rejuvenate feature and adds a new Whisper Blue Metallic Clearcoat exterior paint color.
