Ford Ranger sales decreased in the United States, Canada and Brazil while increasing in Mexico during the fourth quarter of 2022.

Ford Ranger sales decreased steeply in Q4 2022, down 51 percent to 10,712 units, keeping the midsize pickup toward the bottom of its competitive segment.
The Toyota Tacoma continued to dominate, as sales increased 18 percent to 61,451 units during the quarter, outpacing its next closest rival by threefold. The Chevy Colorado (see running Chevy Colorado sales) accumulated 20,602 sales and decreased four percent, but captured second place overall. In third place was the Nissan Frontier, down 12 percent to 19,830 units, followed by the Jeep Gladiator, down four percent to 17,587 units. The Ford Ranger placed fifth, and the GMC Canyon (see running GMC Canyon sales) rounded out the segment in sixth, increasing four percent to 6,408 units.

From a segment share standpoint, the Tacoma accounted for 45 percent, up nine percentage points, while the Colorado stayed flat at 15 percent. The Frontier, meanwhile, also captured 15 percent, down one percentage point, followed by the Gladiator, which maintained 13 percent year-over-year. Ford Ranger sales captured eight percent segment share, down seven percentage points, and the Canyon accounted for five percent, up one percentage point.
The midsize mainstream pickup truck segment contracted four percent overall, meaning that Ford Ranger sales severely underperformed the segment average in Q4 2022.
Below, we have provided Honda Ridgeline sales for reference, as the model straddles the midsize and full-size pickup truck segments. It barely underperformed the Ranger, and would have slotted in beneath The Blue Oval’s midsize pickup offering for sixth place if it were included in the segment listing.

The rather drastic decline in Ford Ranger sales during Q4 2022 isn’t entirely unexpected. It can be attributed to decreased production of The Blue Oval’s midsize pickup as the automaker continues to struggle with production issues stemming from various supplier constraints. In fact, FoMoCo likely decided to prioritize production of the Ford Bronco over that of the Ranger, as both models are produced at the Ford Michigan Assembly plant.
Additionally, the 2023 Ford Ranger represents the final model year for the current-gen model in the U.S., as the midsize pickup will undergo an overhaul for the 2024 model year. Ford Authority recently spotted a prototype of the new North American version of the pickup without camo, showing off its revised exterior styling, which closely – albeit not exactly – matches that of the next-gen Ranger already launched in global markets.
Once this all-new model hits the U.S., we expect sales of the midsize pickup to reflect increased interest, so long as production can keep up with demand. In fact, Ford Authority recently reported that order banks for the 2023 Ford Ranger will close on January 26th, 2023, in preparation for the midsize pickup’s generational changeover.
A solid choice in the two-row EV crossover segment.
That isn't the case with an EV.
Nothing is final, but for now, U.S. automobiles are exempt.
Interest-free financing and more on subcompact luxury crossover.
The Expedition is back!
A more off-road capable EV pickup may be in the works.

Again when you idle down the line many times a year what do you expect even RWFA could see that…. Another no news story
?
This vehicle must be very unpopular, only 57,005 were sold in 2022, compared to 94,755 in 2021, for comparison, Toyota sold 252,520 Tacomas in 2021, and 237,323 in 2022, they even managed to sell 61,451 Tacomas in Q4 2022 alone.
They are $20,000.00 less than a full size with similar equipment.
A mere coins between the sofa cushions upgrade for some of our friends apparently.
Ford would have to increase their advertising budget by 100 percent to match Toyotas budget.
Until Ford is smart enough to put the 2.7L Bronco V6 in the Ranger, the results probably won't get any better.
Fuel millage is awful, Ride is very harsh. Not the truck my 2011 ranger was with the 4.0 6 cyl engine. Wish I could buy the 2011 all over again and was a decent affordable price also
Bring a Raptor version of the Ranger out in North America.
Transmission not dialed in, styling just ok, needs a bigger engine, interior just pitiful, seats suck. So the fix is bigger taller tires, 0ne inch lift or more just for looks. Killer interior facelift. So this trucks sales could be turned around but ford is to cheap & conservative!
