Ford Brazil sales fell dramatically during February, the first full month after Ford Motor Company abruptly announced plans to cease most vehicle production in the South American country. As a result, Ford fell from its usual spot as the country's fifth best-selling automaker to tenth.
February's drastic decline was driven by substantial drops in sales volume for the Ford Ka and EcoSport - traditionally The Blue Oval's first and second best-selling models, respectively, in Brazil. Both vehicles were manufactured locally at the Ford Camaçari plant, which stopped production immediately after the announcement.
Ford Brazil sales are expected to continue to decline notably over the next few months as the automaker switches to a national sales company in the country.
The giveaway has conjured up tremendous interest.
More fallout from a recent supplier plant fire.
Another quarter, another record for the commercial division.
Albeit, one using a different battery chemistry.
As is the case with the existing model.

So this is just an angry reaction to the cancellation of local manufacturing? Does anyone know why Ford decided to end production in Brazil?
