Ford Escape sales increased in the United States, Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina during the first quarter of 2024. Note that the Escape is sold as the Kuga in various international markets.

Ford Escape sales jumped 73 percent for 36,595 deliveries during Q1 2024 among 16 entries in the mainstream C-segment crossover segment when ranked by sales volume, remaining in ninth place from the previous quarter.
The Toyota RAV4 maintained the lead, with sales up 47 percent to 124,822 units, followed by the Honda CR-V in second place, up 41 percent to 95,038 units, but nearly 30K deliveries behind Toyota. The Nissan Rogue took third with a 19 percent bump to 90,804 units, while crosstown rival Chevy Equinox (see running Chevy Equinox sales) finished fourth with a two percent uptick to 54,185 units. The Subaru Forester placed fifth with a 60 percent swell to 48,546 units, the Hyundai Tucson followed in sixth with about a one and a half percent slip to 45,509 units, and the Subaru Crosstrek took seventh with an eight percent dip to 38,405 units. The Kia Sportage, in eighth, posted an 18 percent increase for 37,286 deliveries, while the Escape (see running Ford Escape sales) took ninth, and the Mazda CX-5 rounded out the top 10 with an 11 percent decrease in sales for 34,345 deliveries. The Ford Bronco Sport (see running Ford Bronco Sport sales), The Blue Oval’s second entry here, saw sales up six percent to 31,565 units to place 11th, followed by GM’s second entry, the GMC Terrain (see running GMC Terrain sales), posting a 22 percent rise to 21,864 units to take 12th place, and the VW Tiguan posted sales growth of ten percent for 21,626 deliveries for 13th place. The remaining three contenders posted combined sales of 6,785.
The discontinued Dodge Journey dropped off the list this quarter.

In terms of segment share, the RAV4 earned an 18 percent share, up three percentage points year-over-year. The CR-V posted a 14 percent segment share, up two percentage points, while the Rogue maintained a 13 percent share, and the Equinox held an eight percent share, down one percentage point. The Forester and Tucson both earned a seven percent share, up two and down one percentage point, respectively. The Crosstrek earned a six percent share, down one percentage point. The Sportage, Escape, CX-5, and Bronco Sport each posted a five percent share, while the Terrain and Tiguan both held a three percent share. The other three entries earned a combined one percent segment share.
Combining sales of Ford’s two models in this space, the Escape and the Bronco Sport, shows a 34 percent bump for 68,160 deliveries and a cumulative 10 percent segment share.

Mainstream C-segment crossover sales grew 19 percent to 687,375 units, meaning that Ford Escape sales significantly outperformed the segment average.
While Ford Escape sales for Q1 2024 were quite healthy at 73 percent growth, combining sales of the Escape and Bronco Sport still lagged the top three entries in this space each by a considerable margin – Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue – as well as GM and Hyundai-Kia combined sales, respectively.
Coming off a refresh for the 2023 model year, the 2024 Ford Escape features few changes and updates, including the addition of a new Race Red color and the Active now being the entry level trim as Base becomes a fleet-only trim. Furthermore, the 2024 Escape drops the SecuriCode keyless entry keypad across the board as a factory option, replaced by a dealer installed part, and the factory navigation subscription changes, being reduced from three years to one.
The Ford Escape continues to be a hit, with the Escape hybrid among the top 10 fastest selling new cars and the Escape being one of the most popular used vehicles of 2023. Value-wise, the Escape is among the best new cars and small SUVs for the money. Consumer Reports named the Escape among the most popular new vehicles currently on the market, and the Escape PHEV as one of the most satisfying compact SUVs.

Ford needs to keep the escape in their portfolio as a plug in hybrid. Ford corp are doing a disservice to their customers & investors by removing the Ford Escape Hybrid as a purchasing option.
I bought a 2023 Ford Escape not even a month with the vehicle & the check engine light goes on. Ford is failing with their product. Never trusting or buying another Ford vehicle again. Going to move on to Chevrolet on my next purchase.
