Is it safe to assume every 2017, ecobost engine will get coolant intrusion?
I purchased a used 2017 and everywhere I’m reading theses vehicles are dieing.
If this happens to me I will be forced to go bankrupt.
    Wtf is wrong with Ford.
    Pissed off Canadian here.

I read an article on Ford Authority about coolant issues with the EcoBoost engines. Is Ford doing anything to correct the problem? I currently own two vehicles with the 4 cylinder EcoBoost engine

I ordered a 2023 F-150 Platinum with the Carmelo seats.
Last week I received a confirmation email from Ford that they have my order. In the order summary, in the email the seats listed are the Black / Medium Dark Slate Premium Nirvana Leather Seating Surface with Black Tuxedo Stripes not the Carmelo seats I ordered.
I contacted my dealership to have the seat order corrected and they sent me a copy of my order they sent Ford which clearly shows the Carmelo seats on the order.
I assume that Ford is altering the orders and not informing the customers. If the Carmelo seats is an item that is having a production problem Ford should be informing the customers.
It’s very disappointing to have the dealership inform a customer that the truck they ordered finally arrived and when you arrive at the dealership and see it to realize it’s not exactly what you ordered.

No reply, does anyone at Ford cares as one subscriber stated. How will Ford respond?

Those dongles are unreliable. And a $95,000 Lincoln Aviator Black Label Grand Touring, it should have SYNC4 when a sub-$30k Ford has it standard. The 2023 Aviator still doesn’t have either SYNC4 or ActiveGlide.

Had that happen to me but it was after I came out from grocery store on Ford Fusion 2016 Hybrid. Towed it to dealer. Dealer found a million codes but not anything wrong so they reprogrammed computer and tightened all of the electrical connections for the hybrid system. They figure it was a loose connection somewhere. Never happened again. Just a fluke. Sounds similar to your situation.

Ford owns the vehicle until they sell it to the dealer. The dealer owns it until they sell it to a retail customer or another dealer. Even though you put money down that is not a retail vehicle purchase contract. It’s a down payment for a vehicle yet to be delivered. While it sucks that the dealer did that, I have always ordered vehicles and ALWAYS arrive within hours of getting a call from the dealer that my car was coming win that day. Drop everything and go as the dealers can easily do what they did. Example, I ordered my Corsair GT in 12/02/21 and I got the call on 01/26/22 at Noon. I was there at 3pm when it was just coming out of prep. The dealer told me they had 5 different customers offer above MSRP on the GT as it was moving about the lot. They knew I would be there asap so they did not sell it. Yeah, it sucks but when the dealer and the OEM owns most of the cards these days, you have to play the game or this will happen. Sorry that happened to you. I have always believed in dealing with large volume dealers and ones I have created a relationship with over the past 30 years. Those relationships help prevent things like your situation.

Not sure if you have the Grand Touring model or not. For any heavy vehicle like the GT model or any EV model, they weigh a lot more than gasoline engine only models. That means about every 2-3 years needing to replace the tires as they will wear quicker due to the weight of the batteries and hybrid drive train. I used to wonder why my Ford Explorer Sport Trac used to need new tires about every 24000 miles and eventually the tire guys told me that is not uncommon at all due to heavy weight of pickups and EVs. I would not complain about new tires needed at 23,000 from the OEMs. I ended up moving to Bridgestone tires with a warranty of 60,000 miles and that last set was well into 50,000 miles and still looking pretty new. So it could be any number of factors such as weight of the vehicle, weight distribution, weather, terrain, highway versus local street driving, driving style, braking style, tire manufacturer and tire grading. Your mileage will vary.

I just read in Ford Authority that the new Lightening will no longer have AM radio. In case Ford doesn’t know, AM radio has made a significant resurgance in the past few years. Even though I wouldn’t buy any EV today, it is still a big mistake to eliminate this radio band.

Just received my 2022 F150 platinum, which was ordered through Long McArthur Ford; First, let me state, that I have been a Ford buyer since I was 15 and I’m now 72, but I was truly hurt and disappointed in the product. The truck looks great but I feel that my 2019 was better equipped.
    On December 31, 2021, I placed my order for a 2022 Ford F150 platinum, with a 3.5 Ecoboost, 701A package.
The interior was to be Carmel and the 180 Degree on the seats (was my dream), the aftermarket was a hardshell bed cover, spray-in bed liner, and a couple more items. The truck was delivered to my residence on 8/6/2022 and I was disappointed that it didn’t have the 36-gallon fuel tank, the seat was canceled (by Ford) on 7/25/2022 according to the Long McArthur dealership, no more automatic windshield washer, and a couple of small items not worth mentioning. I felt that my dream truck was taken for granted; I feel that this truck was the first that broke my heart as a Ford in not getting what I ordered.
I will keep the truck only because I love the Ford but next time, I don’t know.
I did get the spray in bed, the mud flaps, and the bug guard and window shields.
Loved the color, but the seat was my dream, and a 36-gallon tank, my my my. But for 78k, I thought it could have been just what I or

With the new F150 Lightning pricing it looks like dealers have the ability to “earn back” an additional 10% from Ford for meeting certain standards when ordering an A plan Lightning. Is it invoiced using the traditional method which would provide the A plan customer with that margin like it used to?

As one of what I am sure are thousands of customers waiting for their 2022 Maverick build for almost a year, I am shocked at the lack of communication from Ford.
I can understand and sympathize with the lack of chips and other parts to build these vehicles. What I can’t understand is why Ford is not more forthcoming with news as to what’s going on, and how the order process will work. Instead I have to rely on rumors, misinformation, and wild speculation found on various forums.
I worked for 28 years as a public information officer for a state law enforcement agency. One quickly learns that when you fail to take control of the message, others will attempt to do so. If Ford has an office of consumer information and a spokesperson, they have completely dropped the ball in disseminating information about the Maverick production and order process. Is there an actual date for reorder as 2022 orders roll over to become 2023’s? How will that process work? Will people who have had an order for months have priority over those who place new orders? What do customers need to do and what do dealers need to do to get things converted and get their vehicle in the shortest possible time? Most of all, what is the huge secret here that the questions customers are asking can’t be answered?
One would hope that someone from Ford reads some of the posts in forums and takes the pulse of their customers. If so, they would know the questions being asked and could conceivably publish an official FAQ site. Would this not be far preferable than dealing with the disinformation we’re getting from various non-official forums?
We understand these are challenging times and surely Ford is not producing all the vehicles they would like to. What we don’t understand is why Ford can’t be more forthcoming with accurate information and specifics on what’s being done to address some of these problems.

It seems there are a lot of us still showing IN PRODUCTION when Ford CustomerCare has said produced, in my case on July 8. According to the Forums, Bronco sports produced just prior have been delivered and others are on the way to dealers. Ford says no hold, no problems but seen to not know why no movement or update in a month. If there is a Ford rep that monitors this site please give us a valid reason for the delay and don’t use supply chain and rail service because it doesn’t seem to affect other Badlands.

So, about a month ago, I decided to keep my current 2015 Platinum F350 SRW. I bought me a 2021 Ecoboost Mustang.

Well, get an email from Ford that my 2022 Platinum F350 DRW will go into production the week of Aug 15th.

Guess someone else will enjoy it.

Been waiting since middle of Nov 2021
