The discontinued Dodge Challenger remained in second place with 3,657 deliveries followed by the discontinued Chevy Camaro (see running Chevy Camaro sales) in third with 444 sales, as remaining inventory gets sold off for both models.

Though Ford Mustang sales were in the red during Q3, it still led its direct and indirect segments in sales volume.
The Chevy Camaro is no longer in production, possibly returning as an EV pony car. Additionally, Dodge Challenger production has also ended, with the first-ever 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona on the way as an indirect replacement. Recently, the Dodge Charger EV teased an “exhaust” note, with muscle car fans reacting less than favorably, because there’s just no replacing the visceral sound and feel of a V8 engine under the hood.
To that end, Ford CEO Jim Farley said that “we will never make an all-electric Mustang,” adding that a V8 will be offered for as long as possible, though a Mustang hybrid seems quite likely. Farley said even a Mustang sedan could happen at some point, reviving previous rumors.
The all-new, seventh-generation 2024 Ford Mustang debuts as more than a simple refresh, redesigned inside and out while offering new tech. The overhauled cabin features a fighter jet-inspired cockpit with a flat-bottom steering wheel, a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, and a new Sync 4 powered 13.2-inch infotainment screen, replacing the analog gauges with highly configurable ones.
Performance-wise, the Ford 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost continues to serve as the base engine, with FoMoCo saying it is all-new. That is also true for the Ford 5.0L V8 Coyote, which is the engine’s fourth-generation, utilizing dual throttle bodies and a dual air intake box to help make it the most powerful naturally-aspirated Coyote-powered Mustang ever. Both the six-speed manual and 10-speed automatic transmissions will continue to be offered on the S650.
In April, 2024 Ford Mustang owners got heritage gauge clusters and a SVT Cobra-inspired digital cluster courtesy of a software update.
That unit may crack and leak coolant, potentially causing a fire.
While other brands ditch sedans altogether.
There are other ways Ford could utilize those spaces.
A way to potentially keep floor mats from moving around.
Coming in just behind the overall market.

Looks more like the front is a Camaro, the rear a Mustang
Ford needs to go retro again with the Mustang. Has looked like a damned Camaro since 2015.
lol, yeah it hasn't . People really didn't make the "Mustang looks like Camaro" comparison until the 2024 car and now the damned internet has run wild with it.
Its below average reliability sure doesn't help.
Nor does it's constant price increases
The problem is simple: The primary market for pony cars is aging out. The Mustang came in as the first wave of Baby Boomers reached driving age. Typical Boomers have trouble getting into the small two-door sporty cars they could leap into in 1964, and succeeding generations have found newer alternatives--not necessarily with only two doors
Sales are up overall compared to last year; I think the wider issue is cost. As I write this, the cheapest Mustang is just under 33,515 (delivery sans local taxes) dollars and per Ford's financing calculator with a 10% downpayment and a 5.9% interest rate the payment is 500/month. It's not terribly bad in terms of overall cost but more than a lot of people can afford or want to spend, especially on what will likely be a secondary car.
Turbo 4's are a turn-off. Blame regulations that need deep-sixed, if you will.
OPINIONS, Are like _______s everyone got one...
