Finally, the E-Transit (see running Ford E-Transit sales) posted an 88 percent drop moving just 418 units.
The Mustang Mach-E accounted for 53 percent of Ford EV sales during the quarter, outselling its two stablemates on a combined basis. The F-150 Lightning followed at 33 percent, and the E-Transit accounted for a mere three percent.
The Ford Authority Take
Ford EV sales were poor this during Q2 2025, as each of the automaker’s three battery electric vehicle nameplates – the Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, and E-Transit – being in the red.
This comes after promising Q1 2025 Ford EV results, which included Ford EV sales setting a new record in January 2025.
In contrast, GM EV sales jumped 116 percent in Q2 2025, with several models posting gains as others were too to perform a year-over-year comparison. That’s because The General has launched several new battery electric nameplates over the past year, currently selling 11 models to FoMoCo’s aging three. That includes a full slate of luxury utilities sold by Cadillac to which Lincoln has no answer.
About Ford Mustang Mach-E
The 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E arrives with significant updates. That includes adding a new standard heat pump to optimize energy consumption, especially in colder weather conditions that sap range due to warming the cabin. However, that results in a smaller frunk due to housing the heat pump.
Additionally, the 2025 Mustang Mach-E Premium trim gains new Sport Appearance Package, enhancing the all-electric crossover inside and out. Also, here is everything you need to know regarding grilles and packages for 2025.
The 2025 model ditches the old center-mounted dial shifter, replacing it with a column shifter to gain more storage space in the console. It also loses a couple of features previously included for the 2024 model year, namely the windshield wiper de-icer and MyKey feature.
As Ford Authority previously reported, the 2025 Mustang Mach-E is the first to get the new BlueCruise 1.5 update, which adds an Automatic Lane Change feature.
Additionally, the 2025 Mustang Mach-E gains the new Ford Connectivity Package. It comes with a one-year complimentary trial upon activation, after which owners can subscribe to an annual plan or make a one-time purchase.
For 2025, the EV crossover drops three paint colors but gets three new paint options, and a new wheel option for the 2025 Mustang Mach-E Rally. Plus, it can now be upgraded with rear deck spoilers.
The 2025 Mustang Mach-E also adds new charging benefits and upgrades. That means both the GT and Rally get 50 additional pound-feet of torque, bringing that number up to 700 to motivate the all-electric crossover from 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E NASCAR Prototype was officially revealed in January as another one-off build designed to push the limits of what’s capable in terms of all-electric performance.
A Ford Mustang Mach-E redesign is on track to debut in 2027.
About Ford F-150 Lightning
The 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning gets a new package and software updates. That includes the new Dark Elements appearance package, available on the Platinum trim level, adding 22-inch black-painted wheels, black Ford ovals and badging, and a black interior.
Here are all three 2025 F-150 Lightning packages explained and everything you need to know about the grilles. The 2025 drops the Avalanche paint color but adds a new Space White Metallic hue. Check out the 2025 Lightning paint colors and available wheels.
The all-electric full-size pickup truck also gets BlueCruise 1.4, which offers a smoother, more natural hands-free highway driving experience.
F-150 Lightning customers can now access real-time charging information in the vehicle (including current charging speed), set a universal charge limit for all locations instead of only for an individual charger, and schedule preferred charge times at specific locations. North American Charging Standard (NACS) fast charging stations have now been integrated into Apple CarPlay, and customers can purchase an optional Tesla adapter that enables them to use those types of chargers.
For 2025, the maximum DC fast charging current has improved from 450 amps to 500 amps.
The 2025 F-150 Lightning drops the standard eLocking rear axle, as the automaker has opted to include the E-Locker (as it’s otherwise known) as part of the optional Max Trailer Tow Package, and also ditched the Interior Work Surface feature for the XLT and Flash trims, though it’s still standard on the Lariat and Platinum.
But, the Flash trim gains standard ActiveX seating instead of cloth, while across the lineup the spare tire is now optional, replaced by the Tire Inflator and Seal Kit. The 2025 model also gains standard SiriusXM 360LÂ and retains the factory installed SecuriCode Keypad after all, on two trims.
About Ford E-Transit
The 2025 Ford E-Transit ditches the old standard range 68 kWh battery pack – which was was previously available on Cargo Van, Cutaway, and Chassis Cab models – for the new, standard 89 kWh battery, which is now available for all 2025 E-Transit configurations. That follows the all-new extended range battery and faster charging that debuted in the 2024 E-Transit, providing increased range.
Also, the 2025 E-Transit gets tons of new packages and kits. This includes some factory-integrated vocational upfit packages, plus new interior accessory kits.
There are four factory-installed trade packages and options to choose from, all featuring components from Ranger Design and designed specifically for different industries, be it an electrician, HVAC, or general contractor.
Customers can also spec two new options, starting with a wall liner kit that includes lighting and wheel well covers to help aid in the installation of upfitting equipment. The other option is a large grab handles kit that enables easier accessibility into the van.
Smart Acceleration Truncation is now offered as a standalone option for fleet customers, which can help improve driver behavior by limiting acceleration based on auto-calculation of payload, enabling a smooth start after every stop.
For 50/50 Hinged Rear Door models, a 180-degree opening is standard on all low-/medium-roof cargo vans and all passenger vans, and a 253-degree opening is standard on all high-roof cargo vans and optional on all low/medium-roof variants.
Finally, the 2025 E-Transit cargo van now offers the Mobile Power Cord as an option, which comes with a fast charging adapter.

Less sales — More Profit!!! Sounds Great !!!
When will the losses stop— $20,000 per Lighting or More !
Ditch the EVs people want muscle & Ice…
Sales continue to decline because they aren’t improving the Lightning. All they are doing is adding or taking away colors, or adding a new trim, but also taking away some decent features that should be on all the Lightnings.
They need to focus more improving the range, as GM has their EV to go up to 492 miles and they just made the new with their truck going over 1,000 miles on a single charge.
While Ford still offers only 240-miles and up to 320 miles.
Why does Ford even offer the “standard” battery when so many people have range anxiety? They should just make the extended range the standard and come out with a new extended range battery to get over that 400-mile range.
Don’t get me wrong, I think the Lightning is a better-looking truck compared to the Chevy and GMC EVs and has lots of great features. But when you are in the same price range and you can get a truck that goes at least 100 miles further, you are going to consider that one a bit more.
Ford and their design team is really missing the mark with all the little “improvements” they are making each year instead of concentrating on the bigger hurdle…….range (then price).
